PDHPE

The PDHPE curriculum in New South Wales is designed to promote the physical, social, emotional, and mental well-being of students. It encourages them to develop healthy lifestyles, understand health issues, and enhance their physical skills through various activities. The curriculum is structured across three years: Year 10, Year 11, and Year 12, with each year building on the previous knowledge and skills.

Year 10 PDHPE

In Year 10, students continue to explore topics related to personal development, health, and physical education, with a focus on applying their understanding to real-life situations.

Key Areas of Study:

  1. Health and Wellbeing:

    Understanding factors that influence health and well-being, including lifestyle choices, nutrition, and mental health.

    Exploration of social issues impacting health, such as substance abuse, bullying, and mental health stigma.

  2. Personal Development:

    Development of self-awareness and self-management skills, including goal setting and decision-making.

    Understanding relationships and social dynamics, including teamwork, communication, and conflict resolution.

  3. Physical Activity:

    Participation in various physical activities and sports, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and leadership.

  4. Health Promotion:

Year 11 PDHPE

In Year 11, students have the option to select PDHPE as an elective subject, allowing for a deeper exploration of health and physical education concepts.
