ACCESS

The Special Education faculty supports students with internalising mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. We offer students the chance to study core subjects in an access class whilst supporting them in the transition to mainstream or alternative education settings.

Subjects taught in the access classes include:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • HSIE
  • PDHPE
  • Visual Arts
  • Work Education

Stage 6 students will study via a Pathways program with electives available in the mainstream school if transition is successful. We will also work with students to develop their social skills, confidence and resilience. The faculty works in conjunction with a number of outside agencies including:

  • Childhood Adolescence Mental Health Service (CHAIN)
  • Adolescence Day Unit (ADU)
  • Head Space
  • Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC)
  • Community Health for Adolescence in Need (CAMHS)
