The Wollongong Youth Forum, in partnership with Wollongong Youth Services, recently hosted the "Living for the Future - A Life Skills Expo" at Five Islands Secondary College (FISC). The event was a resounding success, and FISC extends a heartfelt thank you to our incredible students, Phoenix and Abigail, along with their Youth Forum colleagues, for envisioning and organizing such an informative and enjoyable event.
"Living for the Future" was a youth-centered exhibition designed to engage young people by providing workshops and stalls run by local service providers. The aim was to share information and skills that empower young people, enhance opportunities, and support pathways to tertiary education and employment. The event also connected young people with services and after-school programs that promote holistic wellbeing.
FISC would like to express our gratitude to Wollongong Youth Services, Legal Aid, Uniting, NDIS, Wollongong Council Libraries, Child and Youth Mental Health Services, Stride Mental Health, Green Connect, Wollongong Botanic Gardens, the University of Wollongong, and NSW Police for taking time out of their busy schedules to meet with our staff and students.
A big well-done to Phoenix, Abigail, and the Wollongong Youth Forum for their outstanding efforts in making this event a success!
